After earning his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1985 and completing his surgical residency at the University of Calgary in 1990, he spent 16 years as an orthopedic surgeon in Lethbridge, Alberta. There, he served as Chief of Surgery and President of the Chinook Physicians' Association. Since 2007, Dr. Grypma has been a trusted trauma surgeon and orthopedic consultant in Langley, Abbotsford, Peace Arch Hospitals, and beyond.

• Multitalented Specialist: Beyond his medical career, Dr. Grypma is an accomplished trumpeter, pianist, and pilot, and he’s also a certified aviation medical examiner.
